Jennifer Wagner, LPN, ASN, BS, is the Director of Clinical Research at Pain Research of Oregon and the Executive Director of the Western Pain Society. The Western Pain Society, is the largest chapter of the American Pain Society representing 13 western states. Prior to this, Jennifer was the Pain Management Coordinator in the Governor’s Advocacy Office for the State of Oregon where she co-chaired the Prescription Opioid Poisoning Task Force. Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in Public Policy, Planning and Management and has been a nurse since 1993.
Jennifer’s passion for pain management and policy have also led her to take an active role on both the state and national level. She consults with communities to assist them in developing community-based pain initiatives and lectures frequently on a variety of pain management topics including pain policy and legal issues, opioid guidelines, brain neuroplasticity and pain, and pain at the end of life.
Jennifer was the recipient of the 2012 OHSU Pain Awareness Award, American Academy of Pain Medicine’s Presidential Commendation in 2010, the Pain Society of Oregon’s 2009 Pioneer in Pain Medicine Award and the American Pain Foundation’s 2008 Presidential Medal of Honor.
